So Much Information, Not Enough Wisdom

We are all searching for answers. We are inundated with information – at our very fingertips, every second of the day. And I wonder, has all of this information helped us feel better? Sure, it may have given us answers to a specific question or provided insight on a topic or situation. This knowledge is feeding our mind, not necessarily our body or our soul. But I am wondering, on a deeper level, is acquiring more knowledge the way to helping us feel better?
Wisdom is not something that we gain within our minds or from the outside. Sure, we can listen to wisdom teachers and feel resonate with the words they utter. But that resonance is within us, our heart, our essence. It is not new information, it is actually within us already. That is why it resonates with us and we feel it. So, the answers we are seeking are also already within. All we have to do is slow down enough to hear them. It is just so very challenging to slow down when the world seems to be speeding up and distractions are plentiful. So, it does take conscious effort, a choice, to slow down. Not simply a choice, but it also takes courage because when we slow down, we first have to acknowledge and honor the pain that the distractions have been keeping us from feeling. But this pain, which is attached to a story we have so courageously already survived, has been keeping us disconnected from our own inherent wisdom. So, I invite you on a courageously curious journey to the depths of your own essence. And the road to get there is unpredictable and windy, full of twists and turns. You may not know what is lurking around the next curve, and this is where your courage comes in…to bravely embark upon the unknown in order to discover and rediscover, as you go deeper and deeper, your own true self – which has been there all along, patiently waiting for you to reclaim it.
